Anesthesia gaffes we can laugh about

So the other day, during a routine case, I accidentally asked the anesthesiologist if they needed to check their patient’s chart for allergies… Turns out, they were already doing that — while I was standing there inspecting the anesthesia machine! Just goes to show that even we who focus on quality assurance can have our silly moments. Anyone else have humorous stories that highlighted a lapse in protocols or just some good old-fashioned human error?

And , it drives me nuts when that happens! I remember once trying to adjust the monitors while the anesthesiologist double-checked the meds. It’s a wild juggle, especially with those anesthesia machines that can be a bit temperamental! Just goes to show how we’re all human in the chaos of the.

And i once asked if we were ready for induction while they were already at the end of it! :joy: What’s the craziest gaffe you’ve seen? @CRNABanter.
