A Laugh from the OR

Ever notice how we always blame the anesthesia for a patient’s forgetfulness? I had a patient last week who was convinced we didn’t just lower his anesthesia levels but also erased his memories of high school. I mean, I wish I could wipe out some of those cringey moments myself.

That’s hilarious! I’ve definitely had patients who think we’re also mind-readers… A while back, I reassured a patient by joking about how I couldn’t even remember my own high school moments, and it seemed to lighten the mood.
