Take care and good luck with your job search this week. Remember, the right fit is out there—it’s just a matter of finding it.

At “no-call” sites I’ve worked, the big question is whether there’s backup call or routine late stays — some 7a–7p blocks with 6:30 turnovers still get marketed as no call… Get the schedule language in writing and ask for average wheels-out times; I’ve had good luck filtering via AANA’s board: https://careers.aana.com. Small caveat: some of the most flexible gigs are 1099, so plan for your own benefits.

Biggest filter for me is whether “no-call” also means no pager, no mandatory late pool, and a 36–40 hr guarantee with cancellation pay. I took a “no-call” GI setup that quietly required every-other-Friday 12s and unpaid flex downs — never again; now I ask for a hard “last case start 3:30p” clause. Remote’s still a unicorn here, but if they’ve got 4x10s with true relief, it’s a solid work-life reset.

Quick tip: when a job says ‘no-call’, ask for the written add-on policy, the last-case start cutoff (e.g., no add-ons after 3:30), and who owns after-5 cases — , PACU holds can quietly turn no call into late nights. I got burned once until I added a clause capping late stays and requiring weekly metrics on average wheels-out and PACU boarding.
