We sped things up by adding $1 NFC stickers at each room that toggle status with a quick tap. With “10‑minute nurse slots,” it beats typing: an old Android + NFC Tools (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wakdev.wdnfc) fires a webhook to flip the appointment to Ready/Need DVM/Waiting on Labs on whatever screen you already use. If you go whiteboard, the same stickers still log timestamps as a backup, but metal door frames can interfere, so stick them on a plastic spacer nearby.

I landed a hospital gig last month; having my credentialing packet ready (BLS/ACLS/PALS, immunizations, refs) got me an interview in 48 hours — “apply promptly” is spot on, think go‑bag. Small caveat: confirm post‑call policy, case mix, and how much EMR orientation you’ll get before you commit. If you want a semi‑remote twist, some places do pre‑op evals via telehealth a day or two a week, but it’s uncommon.

I’ve had better luck in hospital roles by acting on the “apply promptly” note and sending a 4‑week availability grid plus my CAQH ProView ID in the first message; I’ve gotten same‑day screens that way. If a site doesn’t use CAQH, I swap in a one‑page case snapshot (recent spinals, blocks, lines) so they can move fast.
